High Traffic

When choosing your floor, it is important to consider the high traffic areas in your home. For instance, the entrance of your home will look good and last longer if you choose flooring that can withstand lots of activity, including dirt from outside. Consider a floor that is resilient and cleans up easily.

Hallways are another area with high traffic, as well as the kitchen and the area by your back door. Products such as solid porcelain tile, commercial grade carpet, carpet tiles, and vinyl planking are top options. Solid porcelain is dense and, over time, if it chips it is the same colour throughout and therefore hard to notice. High quality commercial carpet is produced with high traffic in mind and is another resilient choice. Carpet tiles are replaceable so if one section of your floor is damaged, then those tiles can be replaced quite easily. Vinyl planking may have a very durable finish that will also allow it to excel in high traffic areas.
